Amphotret Injection 50 mg (Amphotericin B) – Uses, Dosage & Benefits Amphotret Injection contains amphotericin B, a broad-spectrum antifungal medication used for the treatment of severe systemic fungal infections. It is formulated as a lyophilized powder with sodium deoxycholate to enhance solubility and intravenous administration. This medicine is commonly used for: Treatment of systemic candidiasis Management of cryptococcal meningitis Treatment of aspergillosis Severe deep fungal infections in immunocompromised patients Fungal infections unresponsive to other antifungal therapies It works by binding to ergosterol in fungal cell membranes, creating pores that disrupt membrane integrity, leading to leakage of cellular contents and fungal cell death. Composition Each vial contains: Amphotericin B IP – 50 mg Sodium Deoxycholate (as solubiliser) – q.s. Sodium Phosphate (as buffer) – q.s. Excipients – q.s. Dosage and Administration Route of Administration: Intravenous Administered only under strict medical supervision in a hospital setting. The lyophilized powder must be reconstituted before intravenous infusion. Dosage is individualized based on infection severity, patient condition, and therapeutic response.
