Eficef 400 Dispersible Tablets (Cefixime) – Uses, Benefits & Administration Eficef 400 Dispersible Tablets contain cefixime, a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. It belongs to the cephalosporin class of antibiotics and works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This medicine is commonly used for: • Respiratory tract infections (such as bronchitis and pneumonia) • Urinary tract infections (UTIs) • Ear infections (otitis media) • Throat infections including tonsillitis and pharyngitis Certain sexually transmitted infections Cefixime works by interfering with the formation of the bacterial cell wall, leading to the destruction of the bacteria and resolution of infection. Composition Each tablet contains: Cefixime (as trihydrate) equivalent to Cefixime 400 mg Route of Administration: Oral The tablet is dispersible and should be dissolved in a small amount of water before intake.
