1.2 PHYSICAL/CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS
PARKALIN® COUGH SYRUP FOR CHILDRENhas pleasant tasting preparation for the relief of cough; it is slightly viscous reddish pink flavoured syrup.
DIPHENHYDRAMINE HYDROCHLORIDE: belongs to a group of drugs called antihistamines or anti-allergies.Most coughs originate from having exposure to allergies. Diphenhydramine hydrochloride acts on the receptors initiating the allergy by terminating further actions of the allergens

- THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS/REASONABLY FORSEEABLE USE
Parkalin Cough Syrup for Children:A palatable paediatric preparation for fast relief of cough in children up to 6years of age. It is for the relief of cough and its congestive symptoms and for the treatment of hay fever, allergic rhinitis and other conditions affecting the upper respiratory tract.
- DOSAGE/METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION/ THE EXPOSED(TARGETEDPOPULATION)
Parkalin Cough Syrup for Children
Not recommended for children under 1 year.
1-5years: one 5ml spoonful four times a day
6-12 years: two 5ml spoonful four times a day
Doses may be adjusted according to the doctor’s prescription.
- WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
- To decrease the risk for serious side effects, the stated dose must be respected
- Use the graduated measuring cup provided with the product
- Hypersensitivity to any of the active ingredient
- Do not use this product to make a child sleepy.
- Do not give other cough-and-cold medication that might contain the same or similar ingredients
- Consult your physician if symptoms persist after 5 days
- UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS
It may cause drowsiness in most individuals. However, other side effects include dryness of the mouth, dizziness. Any other reactions being experienced beyond the ones listed should be promptly reported to the doctor or pharmacist.
- OVERDOSE(SIGNS.SYMPTOMS AND TREATMENT)
Treatment of overdose is symptomatic, but rarely required. In the event of accidental ingestion of the contents of a bottle by a child, a doctor should be consulted immediately. Gastric lavage should be considered within two hours of ingestion.
- SHELF LIFE/STORAGE
- The shelf life is three years from date of production
- Store in a cool dry place
- Keep all medicines out of the reach of children
- Do not use this product after expiry of date.
