1.0 QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATVE COMPOSITION

(INGREDIENTS)

Phardol® drops contain 125mg Paracetamol B.P. for each 1ml.

1.1 PHYSICAL/CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS

Itis in liquid form red in colour and slightly bitter taste. PHARDOL® contains Paracetamol which is an analgesic and antipyretic.

Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and guidelines are perfectly observed.PHARDOL® DROPSis manufactured in a very high hygienic environment.

1. INFORMATION ABOUT PACKAGING MATERIALS(LABELS, JACKETS ETC)

It is packed with a graduated dropper in the jacket to be used for dispensing. It contains 15ml of the drug. The picture is seen above.

1. THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS/REASONABLY FORSEEABLE USE

• Used to relieve fever, headache and other minor aches and pains in both infants and children
• Used as an adjunct with NSAIDs in moderate pains.

1. DOSAGE/METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION/ THE EXPOSED(TARGETEDPOPULATION)

Below three months - 30mg(0.3mls) per kg body weight

3months – 1year - 1.3-1.6mls

1year-2years - 1.3-2.0mls

2year-3years - 2mls(2 droppersful)

1. PREGNANCY/ LACTATION

No effect on pregnancy since it is used strictly for infants and children.

1. OVERDOSE(SIGNS.SYMPTOMS AND TREATMENT)

Untreated Paracetamol overdose results in a lengthy, painful illness in various parts of the body. Signs and symptoms of Paracetamol toxicity may initially be absent or non-specific symptoms. The first symptoms of overdose usually begin several hours after ingestion, with nausea, vomiting, sweating, and pain as acute liver failure starts

1. SHELF LIFE/STORAGE

• Store below 250C
• Keep all medicine out of the reach of children
• The shelf life is three years after the production date.
